Located on South Lake abundant in large and small mouth bass, pickerel and pike. Just 5 minutes from the charming town of Minden. This striking space is Newly updated and professionally decorated with attention to every detail. Although fairly spacious and luxurious, Hemlock Hideaway maintains its warmth and coziness, ready to welcome you and envelope you in comfort and ease. If you need more the local gas bar sells for $9 a bundle. - NEW Napoleon Propane BBQ - NEW Weber Smoker Grill Some details about Hemlock Hideaway Lakehouse: 3 bedrooms: First Master - 1 king, Second - 1 queen, Third - 1 twin over full bunkbed, 1 single trundle bed *Trundle available under bunkbed 2 bathrooms: One FULL bathroom is on main floor 2nd FULL bathroom down stairs. (Newly Renovated bathroom in early 2024.) *basement is currently unfinished. Enjoy a restful sleep. All bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and include plush memory foam mattresses, hotel down alternative hypoallergenic pillows, high quality white linens, and black out curtains. Ecologically-minded luxury soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and plush white towels available for guest convenience. All linens included in your stay, professionally washed offsite. Duvet covers changed and professionally washed between each guest stay. Kitchen outfitted with everything you need to cook a family meal. Appliances include stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, large drip coffeemaker, toaster, and kettle. Gather in the Open concept living room and enjoy incredible views of South lake. Share a meal in the large dining room that seats 10. Walk out onto the furnished deck to enjoy a morning coffee, share an evening cocktail, grill or take in nature. Its very common to be surrounded by wildlife or spot a deer. For a more intimate gathering enjoy the secondary deck with private access from the primary bedroom. The dock is near the back of the property (see pictures). The water is waist deep immediately off the dock, perfect for jumping into the lake and mooring your personal or rental boat. At the end of the night enjoy our Muskoka chairs while looking up, taking in the vast night starry sky. Enjoy being surrounded in the beauty and healing power of nature, relaxing, feeling warm and toasty, hearing the crackling fire and breathing in the fresh Haliburton air. Other Details to Note
-There is a keypad lock you can use to self-check in when you arrive (see check-in instructions) - We offer a drip coffee maker with free coffee grounds - NEW propane BBQ - Also provide a smoker for your smoking meat needs. - Board games (Selection of board games, puzzles and some books). - There maybe be a bundle of firewood leaning up against the house you can use as much of as you want. - There's also a bylaw so no fires are allowed before 7pm - no idea why but I also don't want you to get fined. - There's a full kitchen and dishwasher (please do your own dishes before you leave) and all the main cooking and BBQ utensils you'd need. - The water off the dock is deep, so you can dive, or a cannonball will work. The water gets deep about 20 ft further out. - The cottage is also on a septic tank, so please only put toilet paper in it and while the water is unlimited, it's also not a good idea to have more than like 4-5 quick showers in a short time frame. - The water is from the well and is safe to drink. If you are not use to well water we recommend bottled from Foodland 6 minutes away. - 3 to 7 night minimum stays on long weekends and during summer All garbage and recycling must be taken with you on departure (clear bags provided). There is no garbage pick up in our area. Landfill information is provided with a pass. If you are unable to take with you we can arrange for garbage removal for additional fee. Neighborhood
Wooden area with some residential homes and cottages. Perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and respect the tranquility.
Guest Access
For summer: Free parking for the cottage is available (no inside garage parking available). There is ample parking on the driveway.. For winter: The laneway leading to the cottage is regularly maintained by the municipality and plowed, as well as the top parking lot, however, snow accumulates quickly in Minden Hills and a 4 wheel drive vehicle maybe necessary. Parking in the winter is at the front of the house, about a 10 ft. walk to the cottage, good winter boots are strongly recommended. Never attempt to step out unto the frozen lake near the dock when temperatures have not been ideal for ice fishing. Snowmobiling during the winter is popular in the area and on the ice. Trails are very near the house.
